Within the confines of theater and freelance work I am asked to paint one-of-a-kind images to help convey the location of a play, installation or experience. Frequent surfaces are masonite, luan, canvas and masonite. I use acrylic, latex, oil and theatrical paints dependent on the specific project and location need. I then cartoon the image onto the surface with pencil, chalk or sharpie from an overhead projector and hand paint each, incorporating texture, toning and aging.
